For our client, a leader in self-driving cars and robots, we are looking for an experienced Robotics Support Engineer! The company strives to make transportation safer, more affordable, and more convenient. They’ve set the ambitious goal of being among the first companies in the world to roll out autonomous vehicle control. The selected candidate will have an opportunity to grow and develop working on a very exciting project!
Responsibilities:
- Provide basic service management for robots
- Diagnose and resolve incidents at the engineer level (Tier 2)
- Monitor technical conditions for the robot fleet
- Help investigate robot malfunctions and build a plan to prevent them in the future
- Carry out or manage work related to software and operating system updates
- Create, validate, and transfer knowledge of diagnostics and troubleshooting to engineers at Tier 1
- Periodically be on call and respond to communications outside working hours
Must have qualifications:
- 2+ years in a similar position (support/service desk/help desk engineer)
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux, CLI tools, and scripting
- Experience supporting a large park (500+) of computers
- Efficient, stress-resistant mindset and ability to make decisions quickly in a highly uncertain context with fluid requirements
- Familiarity with TCP/IP network devices and ability to identify malfunctions
- Interest in non-standard equipment
- Willingness to interact with people as well as robots
Nice to have qualifications:
- Knowledge of ITSM principles and approaches
- Experience in robotics
- Passion for cars, people, and robots
